I love people who take charge of their own happiness. This is one of the reasons I chose to photograph people in drag. They just do it no matter what others might think, challenging gender norms and stereotypes along the way.

This project is an exploration of gender expression and sexuality. The drag kings and queens were photographed in their own environments: clubs, bars and dressing rooms. I have tried to show the person behind the makeup, wigs and moustaches. This project is a celebration of difference and the art of drag.
